Automatic detail analysis for fluid animation
We present an automatic fluid animation detail analysis method based on the wavelet theory. In our method, the fluid domain is divided into high frequency part and low frequency part through wavelet decomposition. Detail area can be detected automatically as the high frequency part. For this, we can use finer grid in the detail area to preserve detail. Also we provide a two-layer solver for fluid simulation. In this solver we solve low resolution grid in the common area and high resolution grid in the detail area. With this approach, we can get better visual result than the pure low resolution grid and be more efficient than the pure high resolution gird.
